Najam Sethi Negotiates TV Rights Contracts Of PCB For Geo Super?

Ten sports and Geo Super gets the television rights to air in UAE for Pakistan’s tour against South Africa and Srilanka respectively. Both the channels will cover the matches on their own bearing the technological and production costs. The channels have entered into contract with the payment of high amount that is disclosed to the media and the public. It is being said that the private owned sports channel got the contract due to the senior analyst Najam Sethi who is associated with the Geo TV Network and enjoys considerable influence.
Geo Super would be televising three Tests, five ODIs, two T20s of Pakistan and Sri Lanka series and one off-T 20 between Pakistan and Afghanistan while Ten sports channel would be showing two Tests, five ODIs and two T20s of Pakistan and South Africa series. Under the supervision of Najam Sethi the channel could get into series by series contract only.
After showing up World cup 2011, Geo Super had to face financial deficit. This time the sports channel has asked for guarantee before telecasting the matches.
Former ICC President Ehsan Mani the bids committee head, carried out the bidding process in which the ten sports channel’s offer for South Africa series and Srilanka’s for Pakistan was accepted in accordance with highest bid rates. PCB governors were asked for approval in this connection.
