Dera Ismail Khan Most Inflated & Lahore The Cheapest City: State Bank

Karachi: A report released by the State Bank Of Pakistan terms Dera Ismail Khan (DIG) as the most inflated while Lahore as the cheapest city of the country. In the respective cities the rate of inflation is 13 % and 5 % only. State Bank issued the cost report that includes the prices of food items in more than 60 cities of Pakistan.
According to the details, the rate of inflation in DIG remained 14 % in the month of July. The price hike as close to 16.7 % in the food items and 12 % in other commodities were however witnessed.
Cities with named as per the rate of inflation seen on the food items by SBP in the report according to which Mitthi witnessed price hike with an increase of 13.2 %, Mardan 13 %, in Peshawar 11 %, Quetta 9.2 %, Karachi 8.2 % and in Islamabad the inflation was recorded as up to 7.6 %.
It is ironic here to note that Lahore, being the capital of the agriculture rich province Punjab and the ancestral land of the present leaders seems to suffer less with respect to other cities of the provinces.
PML N government has failed to control the price hikes. The ruling government should treat all the provinces equally and work to lower the inflation which has out reached a common man from the basic necessities of life.
