Drone Attacks Kill 3,000 plus people In Last 7 Years: Report

Peshawar: More than 3,000 people including 168 children have been killed in last 7 years. The drone missile attacked have caused loss to as many as 775 lives while in total 2,992 people are said to be killed. Militants as well as innocent people have had been victim of the targeted operation. In the year 2006, 69 children died while the attack in 2009 swept away the prominent militants of Tehreek-e-Taliban group.
According to the report details, after every four day a drone strike is done. Even in the holy month of Ramadan, the attacks were carried out frequently. However the national and provincial governments have passed resolution in the assembly against the frequent attacks that often kills the civilians, including children, aged and young innocent people at mass scale.


The Punjab Assembly in its session condemned the continuous attacks stating them to be violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty, country’s peace and most importantly that of the international law. The high officials in the session said that the new government wants to eradicate terrorism and the drone attacks are unacceptable at all levels.
Federal government has been directed to look into the matter in this connection. The resolution movers stated that Pakistan enjoins US for enhancing the bi-lateral ties based on mutual co-operation and respect. In the assembly it was also decided that a national consensus be formed to counter against terrorism activities.
