Peshawar: The PTI chief Imran Khan has asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to impose taxes on the NATO containers passing by through the province, devise financial strategy plans and look for revenue generation sources. An official hand out quoted his statement in a meeting held to brief the KPK Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak about the financial status of the province by the additional chief secretary. The meeting was attended by the provincial ministers, chief secretary and others.
Talking about the financial conditions of the province, Imran Khan said that it is necessary to tax the NATO vehicles that are damaging the infrastructure of the province, damaging the roads.
‘We need to impose taxes on the untaxed social sectors. Being the government we need to look for all the avenues of revenue generation so that we can overcome the deficit faced by the province. Challenges in the provinces need to be strictly met’.
PTI leader further said that throughout the world taxation system is evolved to carry out the social welfare services of the society. The local government in the province through proper taxation system would be able to work towards betterment as it would empower the people as well as the village councils would have a development budget utilizing it, they can fulfill their responsibilities and duty.
