‘KPK Govt taking steps to protect forest’

PESHAWAR, Aug 30: Provincial Minister for Environment and Forests Ibrar Hussain Tanoli said on Friday that the coalition government was taking solid steps to protect forests for clean environment as well as to protect natural beauty.
Presiding over a meeting of reforms work group (RWG), he said in order to increase the forest cover the forest department was planting saplings on a vast area.
Meanwhile, the meeting of RWG constituted sub-committees to look into affairs of forest and environment departments and give their recommendations in next meeting of the group.
The working group discussed various issues and also asked the sub-committees to draft all suggestions along with their own and present those in the next meeting.
MPA Anisa Zaib Tahirkheli, Arif Yousuf, Saleh Mohammad, Hamiduddin, Humayun Saifullah Khan, former senator Shujjaul Mulk, Secretary Environment Badsha Bukhari and other members of the RWG attended the meeting. —APP
