Ban on Quranic Translation in Russia Created Panic in Muslims

Moscow: Provincial court has ordered destroying the translation of Quran, terming it to be extremism. Russia’s top Islamic cleric however has strongly protested against the action. Quranic translation by Elmir Kuliyev in Saudi Arabia eleven years back was termed as extremist material by the court lately.
The Russian authority termed it extremist material. Despite the fact, that it is translated in the local Russian language.
Ravil Gainutdin, head of the council of Muftis in Russia, addressed the issue to the Russian President Vladimir Putin stating it to be inacceptable and foolish act. The Muslim clergy called the action as outrageous. He further said that the Russian Muslims have expressed deep displeasure over the exercising of power against the law.
Natives have demanded the government to obliterate the culprit. A strong protest is also observing Social Media. On other hand, many Newspapers and TV channels didn’t highlight this event.
Many Muslims are facing lots of problems in Russia from many years due to anti-religion society. Couple of days ago, bold steps was taken from Russian government against some Islamist Groups. In some raids, dozens of Muslims were and many of them are still under arrest.
